As a North Central Minnesota wedding photographer (and past bride), I’ve taken some time to put together my personal list of the best wedding venues in Northern Minnesota. Taking us from Cambridge to Bemidji, Saginaw to Alexandria, and everywhere in between, let’s dive in and help you find your dream Minnesota wedding venue.

Gathered Oaks | Alexandria, Minnesota Wedding Venue

The beautiful Gathered Oaks rustic chic barn venue is nestled in the heart of Minnesota’s lake country. Settled on a sprawling acreage overlooking Little Charlie Lake, Gathered Oaks offers an abundance of space and photo opportunities. Tie the knot in the barn or outdoors beneath some old oak trees. With onsite lodging, your bridal party can enjoy the bright and airy farmhouse. Additional lodging includes the iconic grain bins which have been repurposed into aesthetic hotel rooms.

Crooked Willow | Osakis, Minnesota Wedding Venue

This isn’t your grandparents’ old barn, let me tell you! The Crooked Willow barn is a beautiful combination of historic charm and modern beauty. The outdoor ceremony space is the epitome of a Minnesota farm wedding venue; the farmland backdrop and towering canopy of trees above brings the rustic wedding vision to life. In the event of inclement weather, take comfort in knowing the large indoor ceremony space will easily accommodate all of your guests. While the gals get pampered in the chic Carriage House, the guys will enjoy relaxing in the rustic lodge suite.

Northern Pacific Center | Brainerd, Minnesota Wedding Venue

No, I didn’t make a big typo; the Northern Pacific Center in Brainerd is a stunning piece of history in the railroad district. If historic charm with an elegant twist is your vibe, you cannot miss this gem. The weathered brick and concrete floors pays homage to the tireless years of skilled laborers working away at their trade. One ceremony space features exposed steel beams, a mesmerizing wall of windows, and a preserved train track aisle creates a true masterpiece. The Northern Pacific Center also offers two bright, modern getting ready spaces.

Ivory North | Mora, Minnesota Wedding Venue

This 1900s renovated barn venue is perfectly described as being the “marriage of the old and the new”. The light and airy historic barn has been updated into a little slice of heaven on 40 acres of fields and forests. The gambrel barn, modern open-air pavilion, and cozy patio offers endless opportunities to bring your dream wedding to life. Guests can enjoy lawn games during cocktail hour, cozy up around a fire pit, or explore the diverse landscape. You need to see this place to truly appreciate every little detail.

Pinewood Weddings and Events | Cambridge, Minnesota Wedding Venue

Located just 1 hour north of the Twin Cities, this venue will have you wondering if you made a “wrong” turn and ended up in the Pacific Northwest. Built with nature-lovers in mind, it’s safe to say this venue hit the nail on the head. The outdoor ceremony space beneath 100 foot pine trees combined with the crisp, modern gathering hall allows for the best of both worlds. The 2 story windows, modern lounge, and cozy fireplace all add to the overall ambience of this stunning Minnesota venue.

Stone Hill Farm | Eagle Bend, Minnesota Wedding Venue

Have you noticed a theme yet? Northern Minnesota weddings are all about the barns, and I am here for it! Stone Hill Farm is a gorgeous property featuring a renovated 1950s barn indoor ceremony space, on-site lodging options, and multiple outdoor ceremony locations. Stone Hill Farm honestly feels like home. From the cute rope swing to the old farm truck, this farm venue is a sweet place to say “I do”. Keep the party going all weekend long with the on-site campground and cozy cabins.

Ivy Black | Saginaw, Minnesota Wedding Venue

If light and bright isn’t quite the vibe you’re going for, Ivy Black might be the venue for you. The moody black and natural wood exterior creates the most beautiful contrast against lush greenery and blankets of crisp white snow alike. Dramatic vaulted ceilings and skylights fill the space with natural light. The outdoor patio with adirondak chairs, fire pits, and lawn games overlook the picturesque views of the northland.

The Barn at Stoney Hills | Cushing, Minnesota Wedding Venue

The Bluebelle Event Venue | Bemidji, Minnesota Wedding Venue

Tucked in the Northwoods of Minnesota, the Bluebelle is straight out of the Secret Garden. Not only does the property feature indoor and outdoor ceremony locations, but decor is included! With over 500 pieces of decor, you won’t have to buy wedding decor only to sell it on Facebook Marketplace after you’ve said “I do”. The bridal suite and groom’s room are both tailored to fit the needs of both wedding parties. Catalyst by Nature Link | Nissan, Minnesota Wedding Venue
